
Facebook users who have received fake or phishing messages like the one below, claiming that suspicious activities were detected on their Facebook accounts, are asked to delete the same messages or report them to Facebook, and should never follow the instructions in them. The phishing messages were sent by cybercriminals to frighten and trick the recipients into clicking on a link within them, where they will be taken to a fake Facebook website and ask to sign-in. And, any attempts to sign into the fake Facebook website will result in the visitors’ Facebook usernames and passwords being sent to the cybercriminals responsible for the scam.
